Reconciliation Re-enactment Commemoration

Reconciliation Rocks Precinct 2 Furneaux Street, Cooktown

On this exact site in 1770, Australia's first recorded act of reconciliation occurred between Lt. James Cook and a local Guugu Yimithirr 'little old man'. Join us for a live re-enactment of this momentous occasion as we officially open the upgraded Reconciliation Rocks precinct and impressive public artwork.

Cook Shire Council acknowledges the traditional custodians of the land on which Cooktown 2020 commemorations will be held and pay respect to the Elders past, present and future.
