Majority of the events on the program are free to attend. 

Some events require you to pre-purchase tickets (paid events).

No, you don’t need to print your ticket for paid events. You can show an electronic version at the gate.

Registrations will be available online soon  

There will be limited car parking available near the Festival Village.

Car parking will be available on Charlotte Street, Adelaide Street and the surrounding streets in Cooktown. Please car pool  when you can.

The Mulligan Highway from Cairns to Cooktown is 330km fully sealed road.

Yes, Hinterland Aviation fly from Cairns to Cooktown return daily. For bookings https://www.hinterlandaviation.com.au/

The Dump Point for grey water is located on the corner of Chace Close and Hope Street.

There are 10 ATMs located throughout Cooktown businesses, all within close proximity to the Festival Village. 

Mobile phone coverage is available in Cooktown.

WIFI is available at local restaurants, clubs and at the Cooktown Library.

 

Dogs are allowed in outdoor parks provided they are on leads. Please note that there will be loud gun fire during the re-enactment performances and at the fireworks. Please do not bring your dog to these events if they are scared of loud bangs!

Yes, this is a family friendly event with lots of workshops, performances and activities for children.

Food will be available in the Festival Village market place. 

Local food outlets will also be open throughout the weekend. 

Yes, the event will be operating in accordance with an approved COVID Safe Event Plan. Please ensure you maintain social distancing and if you feel unwell, please do not attend the event.

First Aid Officers will be onsite for the duration of the event. In an Emergency, please phone 000  

The only safe swimming in Cooktown is at the Cooktown Swimming Pool.

Please do not swim in the Endeavour River or at the local beaches due to crocodiles inhabiting these waterways.

The average temperature is between 20 – 26o

Cooktown can be very windy in June, so don’t get blown away!
